Sober Safe Spot’s mission is to support the recovery community by creating safe, substance-free spaces at every major social event.
OUR STORY
Sober Safe Spot was created in 2022 by some folks who believe that life in recovery shouldn’t be dry or boring. It should be joyful, vibrant, and full of everything beautiful.
Because hey, we didn’t get sober to be miserable, right?
So they set out to bring a safe space to the recovery community, allowing sober folks (and their families and friends!) to participate in major social events without fear of relapse.
They started out at Mardi Gras 2022 in Louisiana, and the response was so amazing – and the need so great – that they kept on doing it, again and again. They went to more cool events, like the Irish Italian Parade and Bayou Boogaloo in Louisiana, St. Patrick’s Day parades in New Hampshire, and the annual Thunder at Louisville celebration in Kentucky.
It kept on growing, and they knew they just couldn’t turn back. Because we’re stronger together.
Today, Sober Safe Spot creates designated alcohol-free areas at all the hottest events across the nation: sports games, parades, rallies, concerts, and more.
Come on out and join the party – because recovery doesn’t mean giving up on the fun!
